Winter Update

This very mild winter has allowed us lots of extra outdoor time. It’s been great because Ruby is not the biggest fan of hats and mittens. I do believe she would love it if we got some of the white stuff however! Right now her vocabulary is expanding (although you’d need Jason or myself to interpret), and she’s starting to engage in some imaginative play, as well as acknowledging her peers more. Her favorite tv show at the moment is the Wonder Pets. She can’t get enough of those little creatures. All four of her 1st yr. have finally popped through (probably not completely yet), and she’s chomping away on some of new favorite foods: broccoli, yogurt and cheese.

Hmmm. I think we have a little daredevil on our hands. Moments after I took this she fell off; she cried a bit and then got right back up on it!

Christmas Cont.

Unfortunately our Christmas was full of a lot of pain and discomfort this year. Ruby came down with hand-foot-and-mouth disease the week prior, and was also cutting another molar into the weekend. She did great on the trip to Asheville (thanks to the iPad), but on Christmas Eve, she started feeling bad. Turns out she developed an ulcer on her tonsils which was causing her mouth and throat to hurt. Now that we’re back home, she’s been put on a course of antibiotics and is starting to be herself again. Despite the trials of being sick on Christmas, we all managed to enjoy ourselves and had a great visit with Nana and Uncle Josh, and we have the photos to prove it! Merry Christmas!!

I’ve never seen anyone eat yogurt with a cheese stick before.
